Dream Hostel is build in the premises of an old paper warehouse. The building has also worked as a pharmaceutical factory at some point in history. We were able to desing the premises from beginning to end to our liking and we hope it shows. The interior desing aims for fresh and youthfull feeling with plenty of light. The hostel interior has been desinged by Anna Mäkinen from Valkeakoskelta.
We offer both private rooms and dormitories. The specially made dorm beds also take privacy into accout, you will feel like you are sleeping in your own little room! All the rooms have been soundproofed and have their own air conditioning and heating, which you definitely need during the Finnish winter!
All the hostel rooms have been named by places or things from Tampere, some even have pictures of them. One of the funniest room names has to be Mustamakkara (Black Sausage), which is the name of a special food here in Tampere.
Kitchen and common areas
We have a very nice and well-provided common kitchen in the Hostel. You can find everything you need to cook a normal meal there. The kitchen is conviniently located next to the other common areas, so you can chat with other customers while cooking your meal. Just remember to mark your food, so that our hungry staff won't eat it ;)
Did you know that we also offer coffee and tea for free? As much as you can drink!
We have plenty of showers and toilets in the Hostel, so no waiting for your turn. The showers have been desinged for maximum privacy, you can even get undressed inside the shower area behind a locked door.We take pride in the cleanliness of our hostel, so the bathrooms are cleaned several time a day.
All the premises of the Hostel are in one level and everything there is wheelchair accessible. Most of our rooms have bunkbeds, so just remember to inform us and we will book a bottom bunk for you. Unfortunately, the new hotel side is not wheelchair accessible.
In August 2014, we finally opened the long-awaited expansion for the hostel - Dream Hotel! The hotel is located on the same premises with hostel, and operates with the same amazing staff. Twenty single, twin and double rooms offer a more private experience then the hostel, but with our acclaimed atmosphere. All rooms are equipped with en suite private toilet and shower. Free tea and coffee selection is at our guests disposal. The hotel has it's own small common kitchen area, but the hotel guests are of course also more than welcome to utilize the common areas in the hostel. The hotel reception is located in the hostel.
